WithinReach breaks down barriers to health insurance access at both the family and systems levels. We provide hands-on support to help families access and maintain their health insurance while bringing organizations and agencies together to strengthen how Washington communities connect people to care.
Expert, One-on-One Health Insurance Navigation
Because we are committed to helping all families, every WithinReach Resource Navigator is expertly trained and certified as Health Insurance Navigators by the Washington Health Benefit Exchange (WAHBE). This means they can provide hands-on support to help families:
- Complete their Washington Healthplanfinder application and enroll in health insurance coverage.
- Understand their health insurance options and available financial assistance to help make insurance more affordable.
- Navigate cultural, linguistic, disability, and other individual needs that can make accessing coverage more difficult.
- Maintain their health insurance coverage by helping with renewals, changes, and requests for additional information.
Our Navigators provide this support free of charge, confidentially, and in multiple languages, helping families move from understanding their options to enrolling in and maintaining health insurance.
Whole-Family Support
Health insurance is only one piece of the puzzle. Access to food, child care, transportation, and stable housing can all affect a family’s health and ability to access care. Our Resource Navigators take a whole-family approach, connecting families to community resources that address these needs and make it easier to access health care.
Statewide Coordination Through WCOMO
Since 2011, WithinReach has led the Washington Coalition on Medicaid Outreach (WCOMO), bringing over 75 organizations and agencies together to strengthen Medicaid outreach across the state. Through quarterly forums, we connect partners with timely policy updates, emerging needs, and effective outreach strategies—helping communities respond quickly to changes.
In partnership with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, the Health Care Authority, and the Washington Health Benefit Exchange, WithinReach creates a space where partners share what they are seeing, learn from one another, and turn information into action.
