What is Help Me Grow?

Help Me Grow is a framework for different communities to maximize their existing resources, to make sure everyone feels supported. Through Help Me Grow, families can access the resources and supports they need, when they need them. Unlike a stand-alone program or initiative, Help Me Grow is like a power grid – a system that directs a reliable current of existing resources so that families and providers can plug in and access essential support, like quality early learning, parent support, nutrition services and health care.

Creating a reliable grid across Washington State will help ensure that all children have what they need to thrive. WithinReach serves as the coordinated access point for families seeking support – organizing and maintaining a variety of vital resources and following up to ensure they meet families’ needs. We also serve as the statewide affiliate and organizing entity for Help Me Grow in Washington, leading the expansion of the system throughout the state.

Help Me Grow Core Components:

The Help Me Grow model uses four interlocking Core Components that align and leverage the work of child development driven organizations across a community:

Centralized Access Point

A Centralized Access Point assists families and professionals in connecting children to appropriate community-based programs and services.

Family & Community Outreach

Family & Community Outreach builds adult caregivers’ understanding of healthy child development and their awareness of the supportive services available to families and service providers in the community.

Child Health Provider Outreach

When potential problems are spotted early on, they can be easier to address. Child Health Care Provider Outreach loops medical providers into the system and supports early detection and intervention efforts.

Data Collection and Analysis

To make sure the system is constantly becoming better, Data Collection & Analysis supports evaluation, helps identify systemic gaps, bolsters advocacy efforts, and guides quality improvement.
