At WithinReach, we’re not just answering the call—we’re asking the right questions.

Starting May 9, families who contact our hotlines won’t just receive answers to their immediate questions—they’ll also be asked a simple, but powerful new check-in: “Would you like to learn more about immunization resources?”

It’s more than a question. It’s an invitation—to get connected, to be informed, and to take action. By proactively offering information and tools to navigate immunizations, our Resource Navigators are helping families make informed choices that protect their children and strengthen entire communities.

Why Now?

Washington families are facing an increasingly complex healthcare landscape. And with recent measles outbreaks highlighting vulnerabilities in community immunity, timely and accessible immunization information is more critical than ever. This effort, running through August 31, responds directly to the public health moment, ensuring that families have the information they need—when they need it most.

At the end of this initial rollout, we’ll review family engagement and feedback to assess the impact—and make any needed updates to ensure our immunization outreach continues to meet families where they are.

A Personal Touch, a Statewide Impact

Every family that speaks with a WithinReach Resource Navigator contributes to something bigger. While our team provides links to vaccine appointment finders and trusted information in multiple languages, they’re also capturing insights about the questions and barriers families face. These insights will inform statewide efforts to improve vaccine access for everyone in Washington.

Karina Wiggins, Help Me Grow Washington Program Director and DEI Chair at WithinReach, highlights why this matters: “Immunizations are often a way to get started with quality medical care. By starting with this simple check-in, we’re creating a pathway to trusted resources, supportive care, and ultimately, better health outcomes for families across our state.”

Why It Matters

Vaccinations are often the first step toward establishing ongoing, high-quality medical care. For families who are uninsured or underinsured, this check-in could open the door to health insurance, low-cost care, and a lifetime of better health outcomes.

This new approach reflects what makes WithinReach unique: a deep commitment to meeting people where they are, combined with a strategic vision for systemic change. It’s just one more way we’re standing up and standing strong for Washington families.
