Connecting Washington Families to Care and Support with Kaiser Permanente

When families thrive, communities flourish. There are numerous barriers for families seeking basic needs help, and the systems of support that families must navigate are often complex and overwhelming. For more than 30 years, WithinReach has worked to connect Washington families to the essential resources they need to be healthy, and to create and advocate for innovative solutions that improve health and health equity.

With shared values, and in the pursuit of building healthy communities in Washington State, Kaiser Permanente has awarded WithinReach with a generous two-year grant.

These funds will support WithinReach’s statewide direct service and resource connection to help families understand and apply for food benefits, health insurance, behavioral and mental health support, immunization information, and child development resources. Kaiser Permanente’s gift will enable WithinReach to proactively provide outreach, education, access and enrollment assistance to thousands of families, and ensure that equity is at the center of our approach.

Additionally, this grant will allow us to support better health outcomes in rural communities and advance policies that address the root causes of poor health. Barriers to health resources are particularly challenging for low-income families and Black, Indigenous and communities of color; therefore, we are dedicated to creating pathways that make healthcare and other important resources accessible to all.

We are beyond grateful for Kaiser Permanente’s investment in Washington communities and their belief in our ability to build better health outcomes for families in our state.
