Help Me Grow Washington and Child Care Aware of Washington created a bi-directional referral partnership — a powerful bridge between two statewide systems families trust. 

Food insecurity is a painful reality for too many families, and as vital safety net programs are cut and benefits shrink, the challenges grow exponentially. Every day more families are turning to local food banks for support—but these essential community hubs are stretched thin, facing immense pressure from all sides. 

Our team recently gathered for an afternoon of shared purpose and community, assembling 100 essential newborn backpacks. Each backpack was carefully stocked with vital supplies—including diapers, wipes, a swaddle blanket, and a onesie—plus a gift card for groceries and a handwritten note of encouragement. These efforts provide immediate, hands-on support for families welcoming a new baby.
