When families thrive, communities flourish. That’s why, for more than 30 years, WithinReach has worked to build healthy communities, one family at a time. There are numerous potential roadblocks for families that prevent them from being healthy and safe, including lack of knowledge of programs and the enrollment process, stigma around receiving help, eligibility requirements, language barriers, structural racism and more.

The systems of support that families must navigate are often complex and overwhelming. WithinReach’s core strategy is to make the connections that families need to be healthy and safe by serving as a trusted link to critical resources, and creating and advocating for innovative solutions that improve overall health and health equity.

In the pursuit of creating healthy, thriving communities in Washington State, Kaiser Permanente has awarded WithinReach with a generous grant.

These funds will help support WithinReach’s mission, build the infrastructure needed to deepen the support we provide to families and ensure that equity is at the center of our approach. This sustaining support will enable us to proactively learn about the needs of families and communities to grow cross-sector, coordinated systems and policies that address the root causes of health disparities. Barriers to health resources are particularly challenging for low-income families and communities of color, therefore we are dedicated to making access to healthcare and other resources accessible to all.
